Professional Overview

Originally from Seattle and now a converted Kiwi, Derek Holt has more than fifteen years' experience in the I.T. and recruitment industries under his belt.

The first eight years of Derek's career were spent in the U.S. working for three global I.T. companies - Advanced Radio Telecom (Corporate Account Manager), Widevine Technologies (Directors of Business Development) and Tukati (Co-Founder and VP of Sales). Following this Derek took some time off to travel around Australasia when he came across Auckland. Now 8.5 years later he's still here!

Derek's first two Kiwi years were spent working for anti-virus company Trend Micro as their New Zealand Business Development Manager. Following this Derek moved into the recruitment space and set up Cube People Recruitment where he is the Managing Director.

Leon has over 15 years experience in ICT- ranging from engineering and programming to technical sales. Sales has been part of Leon's career for more than 10 years, and his passion for people have made those 10 years a treat. Leon uses his people skills to learn as much as possible about the people he works with, from interests to passions. This has allowed Leon to learn much about technology through osmosis.

The bulk of Leon's career was spent in South Africa, but in 2008, Leon decided to emigrate to New Zealand and he hasn't looked back since. In the time since his arival in New Zealand, Leon has built an extensive network of contacts in the ICT sector, which proves invaluable in keeping the pulse of the ICT job market.

Laura has lived in Auckland since 2008 and has 3+ years in the Medical/Biomedical Industry working with Technical Equipment and Instrumentation.

In 2007 Laura Graduated from Victoria University in Wellington with a Bachelor of Biomedical Science Majoring in Molecular Pathology. Although she is still very passionate about Disease Research, Human Genetics and cutting edge Medical Science the need for more people interaction and communication led her into Medical Sales and now into Technical Recruitment.

At Cube people Laura’s main areas of focus are Biomedics, Helpdesk and Infrastructure. Her professional yet personable approach to recruitment coupled with a strong desire to help people achieve their goals make her a valued Cube People Partner.

With previous experience working in sales and customer services for the past 5 years, Eamonn is thriving in the fast paced environment at Cube People, and is quickly getting up to speed with the recruitment sector.

Kevin Sun

Professional Overview

Kevin has over 10 years of IT technology experience with the past 3 years spent in IT recruitment. Having worked for New Zealand’s leading electronic payment vendor and national ISPs Kevin brings a wide range of technical knowledge and consulting skills with him as well as a broad understanding of the payment, banking and infrastructure technologies. As a computer science graduate, he also runs his own development projects in his spare time to keep in touch with technology.

Coming from a multi-cultural background, Kevin is able to communicate fluently in English, Chinese and Japanese. Kevin holds a Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems and Computer Science from the University of Auckland. He also holds qualifications as an MCSE and CCNA.
